These are plans I use on my own jobsites — fences I've built dozens of times, decks I draw in SketchUp before any wood gets cut, gates with the joinery details I'd want if I were the one building from someone else's drawings. Every plan has been built at least once on a real client's property and refined through what worked and what didn't.
They're written for the homeowner who wants to build it themselves, or for the carpenter who wants a starting point they can adapt. Designed primarily for redwood — the material I work in every day — and adaptable to cedar or pressure-treated lumber where it makes sense.
Each plan includes scale drawings, a cut list, materials and fastener schedules, step-by-step build sequence, and the SketchUp model the plan was drawn from.

I'm Tyler Julka. I run a one-truck custom outdoor carpentry shop out of Shadow Hills, California — fences, gates, decks, arbors, pergolas, and outdoor structures, primarily in redwood, throughout the LA foothills.
The plans on this page come from that work. Every design has been built on a real client's property, refined through what worked and what didn't, and drawn up with the detail I'd want if I were the one buying it.
